Had a bl**dy awful day!

Me and OH took the day off and decided we would go to Southport for the day with the dogs, the beach is great, dog friendly and it is a fair few miles to reach the sea so a great walk.
So this morning off we went with tee shirts and sandals on with walking boots and windproof jackets in the car.
Only been driving 10 minutes when it started to rain but we were not worried as I had rung our Southport shop before I left and although it was not sunny it was fine.
After a 2 hour drive and numerous roadworks we finally arrived to torrential rain . We decided to park up and give it 10 minutes but there was no sign of the rain letting up so as we had taken the time to get there we thought we may as well walk to the beach which was less than 10 minutes away.
We arrived at the beach and it was CLOSED, the wind was blowing a gale so within the 10 min walk we were absoloutely wet through. My Jeans were stuck to my legs and I discovered my wind proof jacket was not waterproof.
We walked along the prom for about 20 mins but decided we could not do anymore so walked back to the car and came home!
It was an absoloute waste of a day and I was really disappointed as it has been so nice all week and you can guarantee it won't blinking rain tomorrow.
I have come home to 2 lines of washing that are absoloutely soaked through and will need to be done again and whilst I was upstairs geting changed Reuben decided to chew up my sandals - great day off! Moan over

Oh no! Shame your day was wasted - so annoying when you rely on the weather for a nice beach walk...bloody england! lol

oh no typical british weather eh ...it was raining all night in hayes and thunder storms , cloudy this morning and now it is bright sunshine....sorry for bad day we was looking forward to some pics too

Staffylover70,thats where i live! I even put a weather topic on this site today as the rain was so bad! I'd of invited you for a if i'd of known you was coming my way.. I love taking my two to the beach.

Aw what a shame staffylover4eva I could have done with a nice cup of Tea, I would not mind but I spoke to the guys that work in our hire shop before we left and they said it was not too bad

I wish I lived as near to it as you do as they love going to the beach but it is not local enough to be regular. If we are gong down again I will let you know and we can meet up

Better look on your next visit My dogs dragged me back today to get out of that rain

According to my OH he is never going ever again!! Everytime we go there is always problems with traffic and he gets very frustrated when sat in traffic jams or roadworks. (He only works a couple of miles from home so he is not used to it lol)
I am sure he will feel differently today, we were both very irritable yesterday afternoon as we had to drive home in very wet clothes

I've just taken Seamus and Gypsy on a nice long walk.It had been raining earlier so the dogs loved walking through all the puddles,really enjoyed walking them today as I've been decorating and needed a break.I'd been in two minutes when it started Peeing down,phew! The rain was bouncing back up off the floor not as bad as the other day though .

Oh no we have days like that too, it is so funny at the caravan site on one half it can be raining and the other half is fine. OH had to come off golf course last weekend due to the rain but we had none back at the van better luck next time
