Too much sleep?

Post by paulab1594 on Sat 31 Oct 2009, 14:12

We have just collected our 8 week old puppy this morning. He was from a litter of 7 and there were 3 left today. He got home and cried for a short time, I introduced him to his crate ( like all the books say!). He immediately curled up and weent to sleep and has been there for the last two hours!!! Is this a good sign? Maybe I am just being over sensitive!!!

He's tired lol its very stressful leaving your home and litter! I'd take it as a very good sign that he feels comfortable, mine also did this.

Post back in another 2 hours when he's rampaging round your house like a bull in a china shop

Kai was like that. Then we found everytime he woke up he would stay up and play a bit longer. Now he manages about a hr and half of playing with me then crashes out in his crate.I just leave the crate door open in the day & if he wants to go in he can. When he plays with the girls (there 12 & 14) he only lasts about a hr. Am not sure if he finds it more tiring been with them or if he feels like me & is glad to get away after a while

Paula glad to hear he is settling in nicely. But like everyone says make the most of the sleep. For the first few days Kai was with us i kept wishing he would wake up more. Then i realised i was not getting to much done as i was always playing or watching him sleep ( so cute when he is a sleep). So now he sleeps and i get everything done and then enjoy the play time. so many people have told me it wont be long and he will awake all the time & That i will be wishing he still slept loads Good luck with the puppy ,Cant wait to see the pics.
love Kara & Kai
