spaying and bladder

Post by mel86 on Mon 02 Nov 2009, 15:47

my moms dog Tilly was spayed at the same time as Toby was netured and has started weeing and pooing everywhere in the house! she was completely dry before this. do you think its because of the op?

i know she found it painful 'to go' at first and have thought mayb shes holding herself to the point she cnt atually make it now as she thinks it will hurt

any1 else experience this with their females?

Can also be that she did it once or twice and it was overlooked because she was sore and now she's taking advantage of her "freedom". Back to the beginning and see if it improves.

How old is she? If it isn't behaviour it might be worth a vet check.

When we had Maizie spayed - at 6 months - our vet checked that she was 100% with her toilet training esp through the night and not getting short any other time.

If they are still young it can be that they can become a bit incontinent and this apparantly can be sorted with oestogen. Not sure if this applies to poo too though, you would need to check?!!
