Rather go to the vets - it sounds like an ear infection and he'll need proper ear drops and maybe antibiotics.

Poor Pup Joker

It does sound like an infection -

Once it is treated - your vet may mention to you about keeping them clean for him - we were advised to very gently wipe the ears with a baby wipe but not to go to deep into the ear - this should prevent a build for any future infections.

Maybe you could ask your vet whilst there and if they agree ask them to demonstrate how this is done.

Done.. cost me a bundle!

It was a mild outer ear infection something something
So we got some ear drops, that I have to use twice a day for 10 days.

I asked about wiping his ears clean with a wet cloth, they said I should leave it to nature to take care of it.
But just gentle on the outside kinda was ok.

Vets ain't cheap are they sad

I am pleased Joker has some drops - just a case of getting them in now lol xx

I am pleased you asked as some vets don't recommend doing this in case you go to far into the inner ear.

Big hugs to Joker - get well soon pup x

Post by Skylaq on Thu 05 Nov 2009, 15:55

Thanks for the tips

yea.. he's a good boy, think I'll manage to get them in... otherwise I just have to sit on him

I felt so bad for him at the vet, he was shaking so bad.
He didnt even want the treat the vet gave to him.

And they removed some ear wax, and that didnt smell nice at all.

I think I'll stick to a vet or a groomer to do the cleaning and stuff, just in case..
Dont want to hurt him... I can just picture doing it wrong and my little Joker be deaf on one ear

Sit on him lol Smile

I would also get the vet / groomer to clean his ears - you can do more harm if you are unsure so thats best.

Poor Joker - and not accepting the treat either - I would have been in shock lol

Hope the little fella is ok soon xx

I hope its a one time thing too!

he's just being his hyper self around the floor here...
And we had a friend over last night, so he's a little confused about that..

And he had a accident on the kitchen floor
Dont think that has anything to do with his ear..
