First topic message reminder :

New guy here!!, saw the vid on youtube and though this looked like a smashing site so I just joined up!

Ok, lets see how good you lot are then!! this is my little fella, hes 10 month old, weighs 30kgs, is 20" at the withers, 20" head circumference and a 16in neck, he's pretty solid already and is a really great little puppy. just has a problem with not running off every time he sees another dog!
Never fights, always backs down, just wants to play with everyone and everything.

Only problem is we are unsure what he has in him, some of our friends joke that he looks a lot like an American Pitt, but being that I'm in the UK, I doubt it very much, others say american bulldogge, others claim he is staff mix....

He's a Rescue so no one knows what he is.

As he was from 12 weeks - 10 months so far....

As I said, your help would be great guys/girls, this site seems to be full of all kinds of experience and i dare say there will be features that you lot will notice that we normal people just dont see now we have been living with him for the last 7 months!!!

Hope to be a regular member here, so thanks in advance for any help or advice / thoughts on him and what he is a mix of or if you even think he is something else!?

Depending on how interested you are you can have your dog DNA tested with a kit that you do at home and they provide you with a paper that lists exactly what breeds are in your dog and in what percentage they are. If you are interested its bout £60 and I can find out more details for you.

Think thats what he must be, even the body shape when he sits like that looks the same....must be a bulldogge mastiff cross then?, that pic looks so much like Cody its scary, even the shape and size of him...

Mastibulls can be done by breeding any mastiff mix or pedegree to a bulldogge type breed, Victorian bulldog or Standard Bulldog/ bulldog of any other shape and size i guess inc american bulldog.

I reckon hes mastiff / boxer / staff / ridgeback. He doesnt look like a pit, his body isn't rally the right shape. Hes kind of a big staff but the shape of his ears and his wrinkles would make me ean towards him being part mastiff. Hes lovely though, Smile

Apparantly there are, 80 Boerboels in the UK. 80. They are quite obviously a specialist breed, therefore I think it is unlikely that one of these 80 dogs managed to mate with something else, and the pups were given to a rescue centre. At a cost of approx £3000 a pup, any sort of boerboel crossbreed is going to be swiftly called a hybrid and sold for an extortionate amount of money.

In my humble opinion.

I would place my bets on Definately Stafford in him and I am going with crossed with Boxer xx

Only DNA testing will tell you for def though Smile

He is a adorable though - I have met a boxer / staff and he is a big boy indeed and extremley playful and bouncy lol xx

Same here, had to google it too, not the kinda dog that i would want around kids!!!

the only thing it is good at is killing elephants and crapping out planets!

Cody is nothing like that Epic Dino Dog, no where near as heavy set, those things have a monster arch
between the chest! the wife loves it, but way to big and powerful for anything we would ever want,
out little 30kg puppy is just fine an dandy lol
