ooo im excited!

Sooo!

There's this guy who I see a lot around the area where i live and he's always always got some kind of giant dog with him. I've always been a bit scared of him and i dont know why but he just looks kind of scary! whenever me and my brother have seen him, he's had a pack of dogs that include ridgebacks, dobermans and rotties and we'll sometimes see him with them separately. Anyway, his dogs a trained PERFECTLY. like the most well behaved dogs i have ever seen! And me and the usual dog walking group have chatted about him before and nobody had really spoken to him before and we all seemed a bit wary of him.

However, today me and mum were walking slev and he was there with this massive dog (i dunno what breed it was!) and slev was eager to sniff the dog so was pulling like mad and i was thinking oh noooo. but then this guy starts chatting to us and turns out hes a dog trainer!! and his dogs are just amazing. so we've just booked a two hour session with him for sunday and im soooo excited! he said he'll help us with lead pulling (he's started doing this loads in the past two weeks for some reason) and with his recall! Well chuffed and it's only £30 for both hours!

I hate to be the forum Mummy but he is a genuine dog trainer and you did check this out... don't want you wandering off with a random stranger because you think he is ok....

thats ok watts dont say sorry! i didnt check it out properly, once we got talking to him he seemed really genuine and seemed to know his stuff and then we had a phone conversation with him afterwards about his training but i havent got anything to go by it didnt cross my mind till you just asked now! i think being so amazed that this scary guy turned out to seem ok that i just kind of thought 'great!'. and the dogs ive seen him with are trained brilliantly so ive just assumed that he's legit, but he may well not be :S we also had a dog trainer come to the house when slev was around 14 weeks and she was rubbish so i've kind of jumped into this one!

it's not till sunday so im gonna ask around to see if anyone has anything to say about him because i know he's local, and if i have any dodgy feedback will just cancel it.

nooo you havent at all! honestly, im glad you asked because i would've just gone and been all gullable! my mum and brother will be there with me and my mum was the one who did most of the talking on the phone with him and said he sounded genuine. he really does seem genuine, but you can never be too careful! xx

Theres a guy in the local park like that,dont think hes a trainer but his dogs are amazing,i was walking polly off lead and bailey on and looked up and standing there were two male staffies,just watching us attentively,my first thoughts were that they were strays and i got worried and thought about picking bailey up then round the corner came a beardy chap with a walking cane and two border collies he called the staffies over and they trotted over and stood next to him, there were other dogs off lead in the park and they took no notice whatsoever,i guess some people are just naturals..

Blimey, that sounds good and for a trainer very cheap.

Lucky you, wish I got one of those near me.

Hope everything is legit. I'm still shopping around for my trainer. A few want the dog to board with the school for 3 months and I'm reluctant to go that route. Would prefer to just have weekly training...

I have somebody form Barkbusters coming to spend the day with us on Saturday. Its costing a bit more than £30 tho

i hope he's legit too! saw him this morning with another dog and he said it was a clients dog and it was walking the streets off lead and was so calm and well behaved! i wouldnt risk having slev off lead on the streets but if he can get him to be as calm as his pooches, il be dead chuffed!
