How Could I have got this Wrong?!

Post by Sookie on Tue 03 Nov 2009, 22:07

Was out earlier today with our three and mixing with a tibetan mastiff.

Saw this dog come onto the field on a lead, which I had seen a couple of times before. It came over on the lead to say hello. I had seen it a couple of times before from a distance as it looked like Sookie in colour but more chunky.

Anyway it came over to us and I go to the owner, nice staffy...

The lady owner goes, its an old english bull dog!

Goes to show what I know about staffys! A year down the line with Sookie and over a year in reading up on them. I best get my coat and leave you guys to it

In my defence it was not a wrinkly in the face as I expected!!

Got to be honest, if you mistook it for a staff (assuming your eyes are ok LOL)
I would think it is not much of a pedigree, an OEB, should really look nothing like a Staff.

I was surprised I got it so wrong.

It didnt look alot different to Sookie apart from being more chunky (although it was abit overweight) so either it may not be a full OEB, Sookie maybe part OEB (which I doubt) or as above I know have to admit to being clueless about dog breeds!

It reminded me of a staffy a neighbour looked after which was a similar size and build but as admitted by the owner in need of a diet.

Sookie...
I know for sure you have been on here long enough to know a Staffie when you see one...
So I'm guessing it wasn't a very good OEB.
They are very nice dogs

OEB are a lovely looking dog.

This one had a long snout/nose and was not as wrinkly in the face.

It was still a lovely looking dog but not the same looking as the above dog.

The tibetan mastiff out this evening is a lovely dog though. Didnt want to go home after playtime so just sat down!

Sound like the same thing happened to this person and their OEB as what happened to Max Power and his OTS.
