Harley's just vomited a piece of bone up

Post by My Bully's Keeper on Sun 05 Jul 2009, 07:12

Quite a sized bit too, he must of chewed a bit off last night. He's vomited again there, no food just liquid. He won't drink any water. He had a really knackering play session last night with his bullie pal Arnold for about two hours straight and he's still shattered this morning, will that have anything to do with it?

I don't think so LeviA, keep a close eye on him today he may have vomited it up as it was too big to pass through the system. If thats the case and its out then its all good just watch him an monitor him and see if he is going to the toilet normally and if he is his normal self

He's been quiet all day and vomited a further two small pieces of bone up. He's just lying looking very fed-up. I know the play session he had last night with Arnold was intense, Harley was absolutely shattered and he's not had a load of sleep. I'm worried a bit now though. He's been to the toilet fine and ate some food but he's just lying next to me at work.

Is it very hot there? it could be that he has pulled some muscles with his intense play session, what did he have to eat was it his natures diet and did any of that come back up with the bone, if he has been to the toilet fine then that end is okay, was it a raw bone that you gave him? has he been kinda coughing as though he has some more bone stuck and last but not least if you are getting worried he is your dog leviA and you know him, I would ring your vet. has he had any water?

It is hot allie, but not as hot as it has been. He's not been coughing, he's not been drinking much though, he's had half a pouch of Nature Diet and he's kept that down. He's just shattered tired, maybe the vomiting is unrelated to how tired he is.

I knock off work in half an hour I'm taking him straight home and make him comfortable, cleaning the kitchen can wait lol, the wee man's number one. If he's no better later I'll call the vet.

Put some honey in his water when you get home this will encourage him to drink, it could just be that he has overworked some of his muscles and he has eaten his natures diet and that is wet food so he will have had some moisture intake from that, let us know how he is LeviA because we love Harley Love

i agree with everyone, it could well be that he just got so excited last night and he can not digest the bone, was it a cooked bone raw bone or raw hide?

It was a raw bone, so I'm surprised he managed to snap as much off. Found another little bit before.

He's still shattered but he's home now and apart from the thunder outside it's dead quiet so he can get some quality sleep.

I really wanted a rescue but it wasn't meant to be and I couldn't leave a pup in the house all day so taking him to work was the deciding factor. The little bugger is with me all day every day Love
