Ruby has dry skin
Ruby has dry skin
Hiya all. I notice when i stroke Ruby or brush her down small flakes of dead/dry skin appear. When i feel her skin its quite dry and was told by the groomer (3 weeks ago) that she has dry skin.
Does anyone know what is good for dry skin? She is fed on james Wellbeloved and gets 2 fish treats a day so she is getting her Omega 3.
not sure its really irritating her but she does ike to get on her back on the grass and do a little shuffle.
Also I've managed to teach Ruby Stay and Paw. I'm soo proud of my little girl
Thanks for any advice in advance

We use Oatmeal and Alo Vera shampoo... i think thats meant to be good. We've never had a problem with Tyson so im guessing it must work.

could also be that you are washing her to often & in doing so washing away her natural oils on her skin. try bathing her less often. hope this helps.

I've only given her a bath once.
I was thinking of a moisturising lotion were I dont have to shower the dog.

Re: Ruby has dry skin
There are many reasons Anoop why a staff has dry skin, it can be hereditary or dietry or medical
Do you administer Advocate/Stronghold etc
If dietry maybe an additive is needed/taken out( too much protein)
A medicatoin shampoo from the vets can also help.
Cod liver oil tablets
Garlic tablets
Apple cider vinegar/orally/applied to the coat
Let us know how Ruby gets on

I used to give one of my dogs salmon oil because she had dry skin.

Thank you all. valuable advice as always. I think Ii'll try the cod liver oil tablets.
Ruby used to be on Advocate flea treatment but the last visit to the vet he gave us Frontline which I put on on Saturday night.
