We watched it last Thursday as the OH had the week off work we had a dvd/blu-ray film fest all week.Yes it is a remake of an older film,i haven't seen the original film made by Wes Craven although at one time it was banned.
The remake is good and makes you think what YOU would do in that situation or was that just me.

Really nothing happens - unless you count the half hour they spent on the rape scene. It's supposed to be refenge for hurting their daughter but that part is about 10 minutes.

i watched it last night amongst the mess of the bedroom being decorated!
it was an ok film the rape scene was to long and there wsnt enough revenge like oxide said but on the whole it was ok.

It's not bad if you just want to switch your brain off and watch a good old revenge film.
The last scene is absolutely superfluous to the film though, it was simply not required.
However it's not scary in the slightest, I'm a total wimp and I watched it without any 'eek' moments.
