New posts envelopes & paws?

Does anyone know why sometimes when i log on the little "new" envelopes or "red paws" sometimes show up & sometimes not? Even when I know there ARE new posts?

& dont say cookies cause i already deleted them.

That doesn't happen to me. Maybe you broke yours

the new envelopes for for new posts, i'm not sure about the red paws i haven't added anything red

I dont notice as I just click view all since last visit.

i was wondering what the red paws were too! what do they mean?!

ok just realised what you mean now , could it be that your comp signs you out this does sometimes happen to me and then you end up with post showing up as read when in fact you havnt

What I mean is "Paw prints".

E.g. To get here, I log in, looked at "Feedback suggests & quest's" I can see the "new" envelope as you have all been having fun on this most serious of all questions. Click on it & I can see all the topics & any that have new posts the "Paw print" changes from blue to red.

What colour am I supposed to be seeing?

The red paws are new/unread posts in that forum, and the blue ones that have been read!!
