25 metre lines?

Post by Jay on Mon Apr 07, 2008 5:19 pm

Anyone know where you can get those 25 metre lines for dogs from? Enzo is starting to turn a bit nasty with other dogs now so i dont wanna let him off his lead in busy places anymore but at the same time i want him to get a good run around. I had him off lead over the park today and this labrador ran over and growled at him, he sniffed it and realised it was male then just went mad and attacked it and pinned it down by its neck. Luckily he hadnt gone too out of control and stopped as soon as i shouted at him. The owner of the Lab seemed like a cool guy and said not to worry about it as it was as much his fault as mine for also having his dog off lead but i dont want this happening again so i need to invest in 1 of these lines really, so if you know where i can get 1 from, let me know.

And before anyone says try the pet shop, i have and it dont sell them tongue

hi, i don't know but if you find out can you let me know please.
i use a lunge rein (used for horses) but they only go up to 30ft aprrox 9m, but can pick them up off ebay for about £4 - 5
I bought an extendable long lead but it wass too flimsy for my staffies, broke it after using it twice.

You can get them on Ebay, I use 30ft ones and sometimes add several together depending on were we are.

He was attacked by 2 rottweilers (on 2 different occasions) when he was only 4 - 6 months old so he gets really funny whenever he goes near big male dogs now. Hes fine with anything else and will do what i ask of him so i dont think its a control problem, he just gets nervous around big dogs and then suddenly in that situation, nothing i say matters anymore, he jsut wants wants to attack them sad

I dont really know what i can do to make him forget about being attacked when he was a pup so i just get the feeling its better if i keep him on lead all the time rather than having him rip someone elses dog to shreds straight face

Although there is 1 thing, luckily both times he was attacked we had my girlfriends dads GSD x Mastiff with us and she protected him and fought the rottie off on both occasions so whenever we have her with us now he is fine around big male dogs, its like he feels safe around her because she protected him.

If you can think of any ideas to help him get over it, please let me know tongue
